Mutton Stew


Stew is prepared by cooking solid food in liquids at low temperature.Cooking at low temperature gives a nice flavor to food.Slow cooker is best for making stew.If you don't have slow cooker no problem you can use normal pan or pressure cooker.As I believe whenever cook stew always use whole garam masala not powdered.The whole garam masala enhance the aroma and flavor of food.This is my family recipe.My mother taught me how to prepare.

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 kg boned mutton or lamb(2 inch cubed)
  • 400 gm chopped onion
  • 1 tablespoon ginger paste
  • 1 tablespoon garlic paste
  • 2 tablespoon curd
  • 6 tablespoon oil
  • 1 medium size chopped tomato
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 2 inch cinnamon stick
  • 4 cloves
  • 4 green cardamom
  • 1 black cardamom
  • 1 teaspoon black peppercorn
  • 3 dried whole red chili
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • salt to taste


How to prepare:
  1. Heat oil in a pressure cooker or deep pan.
  2. Add all ingredients in a pan over low heat.
  3. Put the lid on and simmer for half hour or until meat is soft.
  4. Garnish with fried onion.
  5. Serve with paratha or rice.
